Peru: Presidential candidate Paul Jaimes casts vote

Presidential candidate Paul Jaimes, representing the Progresemos (Let's Progress party), cast his vote in Lima’s Rimac district as part of the 2026 general elections.

Jaimes voted at Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera School, located on Tupac Amaru Avenue.

The candidate arrived at the polling place accompanied by some supporters to take part in the electoral process.

He was also joined by his dog, which remained with him as he cast his ballot.

According to the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) voter list, more than 27 million Peruvians are eligible to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide, in an election marking the return to a bicameral Congress.

In this electoral process, voters will choose the president, vice presidents, members of the Bicameral Congress (senate and Chamber of Deputies), and representatives to the Andean Parliament.

The 2026 General Elections began at 7:00 a.m., with more than 27 million Peruvians expected to vote until 6:00 p.m. to choose national authorities and congressional representatives.
