Peru: Presidential candidate Enrique Valderrama casts vote

Presidential candidate Enrique Valderrama Peña, representing the Peruvian Aprista Party, cast his vote at an educational institution in a neighborhood unit in Lima's Cercado district as part of the 2026 General Elections on Sunday.

Valderrama arrived at the polling place accompanied by his wife. He waited in line and cast his ballot without any issues.

Earlier, the presidential candidate took part in an election breakfast at the Peruvian Aprista Party headquarters, accompanied by his family and members of his political organization.

Joining Valderrama on the presidential ticket are Maria Ines Acuña Valdivia, candidate for first vice president, and Antonio Vasquez Sanchez, candidate for second vice president.

According to the electoral roll of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), more than 27 million Peruvians are eligible to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide, in a process that marks the return to a bicameral Congress.

In the 2026 electoral process, voters will choose the next president, 30 national senators, 30 regional senators, 130 deputies, and five representatives to the Andean Parliament.
