Peru: President-elect Keiko Fujimori meets with King Felipe VI of Spain

Peru's President-elect Keiko Fujimori met with King Felipe VI of Spain on Monday.

The Spanish monarch arrived in Lima on an official visit to attend the presidential transfer of power ceremony scheduled for July 28.

The meeting between the president-elect and the Spanish king took place at the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters.

At the site, they reaffirmed the friendship ties between the two countries and their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The event, which lasted approximately 40 minutes, was also attended by Foreign Affairs Minister-designate Carlos Espa.

Following the meeting with the president-elect, the monarch left the Foreign Affairs Ministry without speaking to the media gathered outside.

Keiko Fujimori's gatherings with representatives of foreign governments come ahead of the presidential transfer of power ceremony.

The event will take place today at the Bicameral Congress headquarters, with delegations from countries across the region and around the world in attendance.
