Hours before being sworn in as President of the Republic,
Keiko Fujimori received on Monday delegations from the Governments of the People's Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, which will attend the presidential transfer of power at the Bicameral Congress this Tuesday.
The incoming Head of State received the delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by Science and Technology Minister Yin Hejun, who will represent his country at the inauguration of the president-elect.
Yin Hejun will attend the presidential transfer of power ceremonies on July 28 as special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"President-elect Keiko Fujimori held a bilateral meeting with Yin Hejun, Minister of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and special envoy, during which they discussed opportunities to promote new investments, strengthen economic cooperation, and reaffirm both countries' commitment," the Office of the President-elect stated on X.
Japan
Likewise, Peru's incoming leader met with the Japanese delegation, comprising State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Horii Iwao, and its Ambassador to Peru, Tsuyoshi Yamamoto.
"President-elect Keiko Fujimori held a bilateral meeting with Senator Horii Iwao, Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs and ambassador on a special mission, during which they discussed various areas of cooperation, including disaster risk management, as well as prevention and preparedness for El Niño phenomenon," the Office of the President-elect indicated on X.
Republic of Korea
The Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters also hosted the meeting between Peru's incoming Head of State and the delegation from the Republic of Korea.
"President-elect Keiko Fujimori held a bilateral meeting with Hong-Chul Min, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, with whom she discussed strengthening trade, technological cooperation, and the defense industry," the Office of the President-elect reported.
Other meetings
As part of these meetings, the incoming president also held talks with Aruba Prime Minister and representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mike Eman.
During the event, he said it is important to support the agricultural sector as a driver of Peru's economy.
Moreover, the president-elect met with the leader of Spain's People's Party, Alberto Nuñez Feijoo.
He highlighted the strong bilateral relations with Peru and expressed his institutional support for the president-elect.
