The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, stated that his administration is distinguished by an extraordinary commitment to boosting education, stressing that it is the most important investment for the future.

The top official emphasized that, thanks to the tablets his administration has been delivering across the country, students will have access to information and learning tools.

The President said his administration public universities have been established "throughout the country" during his administration.

He added that more higher education institutions offering free, quality education are needed.

"I believe our Government is becoming known for that, and it will stand out from others because we are giving an extraordinary boost to education," Balcazar stated.

"I will never tire of supporting education, and for that I also rely on a Council of Ministers that fully backs these efforts. We do not lose by investing in education. It is an outstanding investment—one that has been made and must continue to be made in the future—to expand access and increase government support so that public education is of high quality," he added.

The Head of State made the remarks during a ceremony to deliver 555 tablets to the Arequipa Girls’ Educational Institution in the region of the same name on Monday morning.

This event was attended by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo, Deputy Pedagogical Management Minister Gerber Perez, among other authorities.

President Balcazar said another priority of the transitional government he leads is healthcare.

Earlier today, he visited the construction site of the Maritza Campos Diaz Hospital to inspect its progress. The facility will serve Arequipa, Cusco, and Puno regions.

"This modern facility will benefit thousands of families in Arequipa and Caylloma province by offering greater service capacity and reducing the need for transfers to other hospitals, bringing more timely and efficient healthcare to the population," the Presidential Office reported.
