More than 460 innovative ventures and MSMEs —winners of the StartUp Peru 10 G and Quality MSMEs contests— will receive between S/45,000 (US$12,116) and S/140,000 (US$37,695), President Dina Boluarte highlighted.

The Head of State led the awarding ceremony at the Government Palace in Lima on Thursday evening.

These resources will enable awardees to develop and enhance their innovative products or services.

Most winners come from Arequipa, Junin, Puno, Cusco, Lambayeque, and Cajamarca regions. About half are initiatives led by women.

"From the Government, we are committed to increasing formality and ensuring that each new venture or company has innovative products and services that make a difference at the national and international level," Mrs. Boluarte underscored.

In total, more than S/25 million (over US$6.73 million) is being transferred to over 460 Peruvian entrepreneurs and businesspeople, through contests promoted by the Production Ministry's ProInnovate program.

"From the (Peruvian) State, we are betting safely on you, through non-refundable co-financing, with which you will be able to make your businesses grow, generate new jobs, and contribute with your taxes so that more companies can have the opportunity to enter the market," she indicated.

On the other hand, Mrs. Boluarte stressed that Peru's economy is in clear recovery.

"During the first quarter, we have managed to get greater production and investment thanks to efforts in every sector. We are committed to increasing formality and boosting innovation so that there can be more employment (opportunities)," she concluded.
