The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, held a meeting with representatives of the National Society of Industries (SNI), led by its chairman, Felipe James.

In his remarks, the Head of State said that, during his time in Congress, he fostered—alongside other lawmakers—a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening investment in the country.

"What comes next to complete the ecosystem is the Industries Law, so it can be finalized and allow us to move up to a new level," Jeri stated.

"We had already discussed this with the ministers; we need to tie up loose ends to place this final legal framework on the table and reach an agreement with Congress on the Special Economic Zones," he added.

In that regard, the top official argued it was essential for the Executive Branch to find a point of balance, so that a consensus-based text could subsequently be reached with Congress.

"We have only a few weeks to focus on achieving the renewal of this legal ecosystem and strengthening the country's productive capacity. That is our priority," he noted.

The meeting was held at Government Palace in Lima.

On this occasion, the President was accompanied by Ministers Cesar Quispe (Production) and Hugo de Zela (Foreign Affairs), among other senior officials from the Executive Branch.
