The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, held a coordination meeting with Executive Branch officials and Peruvian National Police authorities as part of the strategy to combat citizen insecurity and organized crime.

During the gathering, the Head of State was briefed on the strategic scope of the National Citizen Security Plan, whose approval is expected as soon as possible, the Presidential Office reported.

The coordination session was attended by Cabinet Chief Denisse Miralles, as well as Ministers Hugo Begazo (Interior), Aldo Prieto (Transportation and Communications), Hugo de Zela (Foreign Affairs), and Peruvian National Police General Commander Oscar Arriola.

"The meeting allowed for briefing the Head of State on the strategic scope of the National Citizen Security Plan, whose approval is expected as soon as possible. This coordinated effort prioritizes intelligence and prevention as fundamental pillars for restoring internal order," the Presidential Office stated on X.

Earlier, the Cabinet chief said she would take part in the coordination session, where adjustments to the citizen security strategy would be addressed.

"The President (Jose Maria Balcazar) has requested certain adjustments—let's say—to the security strategy. He has called for much greater urgency, and we are coordinating precisely in this session so that the public can feel that impact," Miralles pointed out.
