The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday evening welcomed the inauguration of Xiomara Castro as President of Honduras.

"My fraternal greetings to the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, who starting today will lead the way of progress for our brother Honduran people. May this stage of hope be the reflection of desire for the social integration of our Great Homeland," Mr. Castillo expressed on Twitter.

The Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte also conveyed greetings over the swearing in of Castro.

"We join the celebration of democracy in Honduras as Xiomara Castro's Government begins today. Thank you very much for your kind invitation, partner. Our hearts are with you and the Honduran people on this great day," she wrote on Twitter.
