Amid an atmosphere of profound religious fervor,
welcomed and paid tribute to the sacred image of the Lord of Miracles at the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor on Sunday.
The ceremony was marked by faith, solemnity, and devotion to the Brown Christ.
This visit took on historic significance, as the venerated image returned to this iconic venue at the seat of the Executive Branch for the first time in 40 years.
The image last visited the palace in 1986, lending special significance to one of the most deeply rooted religious traditions among the Peruvian people.
During the ceremony, the Head of State was accompanied by Prime Minister Luis Galarreta and the Cabinet members, who joined in paying tribute to the Lord of Miracles—a symbol of faith and hope for Peruvians.
For the occasion, the Courtyard of Honor's central area featured an impressive floral carpet adorned with motifs representing Peru, specially prepared to welcome the sacred image and reflect the country's traditions, religious devotion, and national identity.
Meanwhile, the entrance to the Government Palace was adorned with a large floral arrangement depicting the Presidential Office emblem.
In this atmosphere of solemn reverence, the Mariscal Domingo Nieto Cavalry Regiment—the presidential escort—rendered the appropriate honors to the Brown Christ, combining institutional solemnity with the profound religious devotion that characterizes this celebration.
It is worth noting that members of the Fifth Bearers' Group of the Lord of Miracles Brotherhood were responsible for carrying the platform bearing the Christ of Pachacamilla on their shoulders as the venerated image was brought into the Government Palace.
