visited the Peruvian Navy's B.A.P. Paita multipurpose vessel at the Callao Naval Base on Friday.
The vessel will be used to respond to emergencies in the context of El Niño phenomenon.
The Head of State was accompanied by Cabinet Chief Luis Galarreta, as well as Ministers Rafael Belaunde Llosa (Defense) and Marco Vinelli Ruiz (Agrarian Development and Irrigation).
Aboard the vessel, the top official received briefings from Peruvian Navy authorities on the provision of emergency medical care.
She also observed demonstrations of the B.A.P. Paita crew's operational work.
The B.A.P. Paita will travel to various regions of the country with the Rapid Intervention Brigade, carrying aid, food, and even the heavy machinery needed to assist the Peruvian population.
President Keiko Fujimori made the visit after inspecting the rescue area and the facilities of the Navy Industrial Services (SIMA).
