Peru: President Fujimori receives Ecuador's former President Lasso

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, met with former Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso at the Government Palace in Lima on Monday.

At the gathering, they discussed issues of regional interest and matters related to strengthening ties between the two countries.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the main challenges facing the region and the need to continue promoting spaces for dialogue and cooperation.

The event took place within the framework of the close bilateral relationship between Peru and Ecuador, neighboring countries that share a common agenda in areas such as integration, citizen security, border development, and economic growth.


Meeting with ministers

Subsequently, President Fujimori met with Cabinet Chief Luis Galarreta, as well as Ministers Rafael Belaunde (Defense), and Elmer Cuba (Economy-Finance) to address the Government's actions in response to El Niño phenomenon.

During the working meeting, measures aimed at strengthening prevention and the State's response capacity were assessed.

The aim is to safeguard people's lives and protect national infrastructure against the possible effects of El Niño.
