participated in the Meeting of Heads of State and Government on the "Santiago Regional Commitment against Transnational Organized Crime," held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
At the event, the Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to implementing this initiative, which aims to strengthen regional cooperation against organized crime.
Peru's top official underscored the need for a firm regional response to organized crime through the continuous exchange of information, effective coordination among authorities, as well as direct action against criminal organizations and their financial resources.
The session was attended by Presidents Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Jose Antonio Kast (Chile), Santiago Peña (Paraguay), and Yamandu Orsi (Uruguay), as well as Foreign Affairs Ministers Roberto Kury (Ecuador) and Pablo Quirno (Argentina).
