Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra contacted his counterpart Lenin Moreno to show support and solidarity with the people and Government of Ecuador over the recent incidents of violence and disturbance of public order, which are incompatible with the rule of law and democracy of such nation.
During the conversation, Vizcarra expressed appreciation for the measures taken and the efforts made by the Ecuadorian Government, for the benefit of the population.
Likewise, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the statesman conveyed Peru's strong rejection to any attempt to destabilize the democratic process in Ecuador.
The Peruvian leader said he hopes political and social forces will prioritize dialogue and ensure the re-establishment of social peace in the neighboring country.
