The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday morning led the graduation ceremony of second lieutenants and sub-lieutenants at the Chorrillos Military Academy "Colonel Francisco Bolognesi."

During the ceremony, the Head of State presented sabers and took the oath of 256 graduates from the class "Bicentennial of Creation of the Peruvian Republican Army."

The Chorrillos Military Academy's mission is to train Army officers —professionals in the field of weapons and services— who graduate intellectually, physically, psychologically, and morally.

The aim is to train them so that they can be in command of the units that make up the Army, ensuring the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic, as well as to participate in the socio-economic development of the country.

It should be pointed out that the Army is the only Peruvian State institution that is present all over the country. Peruvian soldiers, from big cities to border areas, are loyal defenders of the homeland and its integrity as a nation.

In this regard, the Peruvian leader has shown his appreciation to the Armed Forces, including the Peruvian Army, by pointing out the sacrifice they make to defend the country's borders and their permanent fight against terrorism.

Additionally, he has stressed the participation of the Peruvian Army in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to the assistance it provides to all the affected people.
