The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday participated in the ceremony to deliver 3,791 title deeds in Ancash region, where she arrived joined by Housing Minister Hania Perez de Cuellar.

These titles benefit a total of 13,000 residents of the zones 217 and 308 Hectares in Nuevo Chimbote thanks to the work carried out by the State-run Informal Property Formalization Agency (Cofopri).

During her speech, the top official indicated that she knows the history of how human settlements were born, where at first families lived among mats, cardboards, and eternit sheets, without potable water and drainage services, but always surrounded by a "unity for hope and the dream of managing to obtain title deeds."

"I want to congratulate you for that struggle and courage, (...) today (these lands) are yours by rights, thanks to that sacrifice for the time you have given. Today, we are delivering 3,791 title deeds in Ancash region," she expressed.

The Head of State affirmed that, thanks to these documents, people will be able to access bank credits and request benefits from programs aimed at refurbishing and expanding homes.

"It is yours, and it is in your hands to make the enhancements on the property that you deem appropriate; from now on your title deeds increase the value, and you can access the credits that Banco de La Nacion (Bank of the Nation) works on along with the Ministry of Housing," she pointed out.

Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte committed to providing water and drainage services to these areas, saying, "it is a right that assists people" because it is not fair that many years have to pass before this promise can be fulfilled.

"That cannot go on; we have to settle this historic debt towards you. Therefore, I announce that in 2024 we will finance the technical file of the water and sewage project for the districts of Chimbote and Nuevo Chimbote," she affirmed.

Mrs. Boluarte said this project will benefit 561,000 compatriots, who will have access to water and drainage services at their homes.

She also announced that for 2024 a budget worth S/1.4 million (about US$378,378) is being allocated to complete the pre-investment study of the water and sewage project for the city of Huaraz, benefiting more than 530,000 residents.
