The
President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, held a meeting with mayors from the Association of Municipalities of Peru (AMPE).
"The main objective of the meeting was to coordinate joint actions to unblock stalled projects and strengthen public administration nationwide," the Presidential Office reported on X.
Working hand in hand with local governments, "we are boosting the reactivation of projects that will improve the quality of life of more Peruvians," it added.
Regional governments
The Head of State led coordination meetings with regional and local authorities to foster sustainable development in the country.
In this context, together with regional government authorities and mayors from Lambayeque region, priority actions were defined to improve road, educational, and urban infrastructure.
These include the rehabilitation of the
"Ruta del Papa" (Pope Leo XIV Route), financing of projects through the National Infrastructure Authority and the evaluation of strategic initiatives aimed at boosting investment and economic recovery.
During a meeting with Cusco Region Government, authorities addressed issues related to closing gaps.
Efforts are ongoing to coordinate resource management for priority initiatives and strengthen joint work with local authorities, reaffirming the government's commitment to territorial development and citizens' well-being.
These events took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
