Similarly, the Presidential Office called on future generations to keep this tradition alive.
"Our Creole music is an example of the greatness of our culture and the passion that we carry in our hearts," it expressed in a message shared via X.
The Executive Branch body also called for celebrating our roots and keeping tradition alive.

Creole Music Day is celebrated every October 31 —a date established in 1944 during President Manuel Prado Ugarteche's government, with the aim of paying tribute to the main musicians and performers of this musical genre so important for our country.
During the first celebration, the Peruvian flag was raised in the musical centers of Lima and Callao.
In the evening, a special ceremony was held at the renowned Carlos A. Saco Music Center, located at Buenos Aires Square in the Barrios Altos neighborhood, Lima. It saw the presence of then-President Prado Ugarteche.
