Peruvian Prime Minister Guido Bellido on Tuesday morning supervised sewage system works in Lima's San Juan de Lurigancho district, in order to restore the drinking water service to the population.
In an interview with TV Peru, the Cabinet chief commented that he met with community leaders and locals on Monday evening, adding that the commitment is to guarantee the restoration of said service as soon as possible.
Bellido stressed the importance of verifying in situ the progress made in said works, talking to persons in charge from State-run water company
Sedapal, and enforcing the commitments to the people.
"We have been told that it (the service) will be restored tomorrow," he said, noting that the service must be restored first, while evaluations and assessments will be carried out after that.

The high-ranking official remarked that the Public Ministry is authorized to make a determination on the matter —considering that a regulatory context is involved— and the Executive Branch will respect what it (the Public Ministry) deems appropriate.
Regarding the recent statements made by
Justice Minister Anibal Torres —on Peru Libre Secretary-General Vladimir Cerron— Bellido pointed out that this is a personal opinion.
As for Ombudsman Walter Gutierrez's criticism of his management, the head of the Ministerial Cabinet emphasized that each person acts according to the regulations.
"If his function is to assess or rate ministers, he should proceed with that, if not, he needs to review his functions and in which context this is framed," he added.
