Peru: PM continues preparations for Pope Leo XIV's upcoming visit

Prime Minister Luis Enrique Arroyo led a working meeting with State ministers, representatives of the Apostolic Nunciature in Peru, the Peruvian Episcopal Conference, and various authorities to continue multisectoral coordination efforts ahead of Pope Leo XIV's upcoming visit to the South American country.

This information was shared by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on X.

Following Pope Leo XIV's meeting with President Jose Maria Balcazar at the Vatican on June 18, it was announced that His Holiness would visit Peru for 8-10 days, including stops in Lima, Chiclayo, Piura, Cusco, and Pucallpa.

Additionally, the cities of Puno and Iquitos are still being considered as possible destinations on the Supreme Pontiff's official itinerary.
