Peru: New Ministerial Cabinet sworn in

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar Zelada, on Tuesday evening administered the oath of office to members of the new Cabinet led by Prime Minister Denisse Miralles Miralles.

During the ceremony, the supreme resolution accepting the resignation of ex-Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez Miranda and of former Cabinet members was read aloud.

It must be noted six State ministers from the previous administration remain in their posts.

Balcazar Zelada took office on February 18 through a presidential succession after being elected by Congress as head of that branch of government.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
