18:21 | Lima, Jun. 11.

Within the framework of the relentless fight against drug trafficking, anti-drug agents from the Peruvian National Police (PNP) destroyed five rustic drug processing laboratories, in heliborne operations named "Ciclon Santa Lucia 2023" (Saint Lucy Cyclon 2023), across Campanilla district in the province of Mariscal Caceres (San Martin region).

Police operations have managed to neutralize the production of 41 kg of cocaine, which represents a significant loss of US$41,000 for criminal organizations dedicated to illicit drug trafficking.

According to Interior Minister Vicente Romero, these actions show the commitment and effectiveness of the PNP in the fight against drug trafficking, thus contributing to the safety and well-being of the population.

According to plan, and in line with the Government's commitment to the constant fight against illegal drug trafficking, a first group of members of the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro) raided a clandestine center for production of cocaine hydrochloride in the population center of Mancis.

Also in Mancis, the agents found two rustic laboratories used for the production of cocaine base paste (CBP).

Afterwards, a second police squad found two other clandestine centers for production of CBP in the population center of Situlli.

Moreover, 3,382.7 kg of controlled chemicals, including gasoline, acetone, and rust, as well as 84 kg of cement, were also seized during the operations.

In addition, 4,715 kg of coca leaves in maceration stage and 28 tons of detritus (the remains of the aforementioned processed plant) were found, which evidences the drug production activity in the place.

All clandestine laboratories and seized materials were destroyed with the authorization of a Public Ministry's representative, as part of the measures adopted to combat illicit drug trafficking in the region.
