has launched the 21st edition of the Gastronomic Fair "Peru Mucho Gusto" to be held at Mariscal Caceres Stadium in the northern city of Tumbes from August 11 to 13.
"Peru Mucho Gusto is not only a place to celebrate and showcase authentic Peruvian cuisine and the people behind it, but also an opportunity to boost the regional economy through two key sectors: tourism and gastronomy," PromPeru's Deputy Director of Domestic Tourism, Lucrecia Lafora, said.
PromPeru returns to Tumbes to connect different segments of travelers through food, with the aim of encouraging travel within the country's northern macro-region and from neighboring Ecuador, as well as contributing to the recovery of Peruvian gastronomy-related businesses, and preserving traditional cuisines as a motivating complement for travel.
The fair —set to bring together 50 exhibitors— will offer attendees a diverse range of tourism and gastronomic items, as well as regional products and crafts from Apurimac, Amazonas, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huanuco, Ica, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Loreto, Moquegua, Piura, Puno, San Martin, Tacna, Tumbes, and Ucayali regions.
It is worth mentioning that gastronomic exhibitors will offer various types of food, including those linked to traditional picanterías, country-style kitchens, seafood, fusion cuisine, desserts, and artisanal beverages.
The fair will be divided into different zones, such as restaurants, food stalls, bars, dessert areas, product displays, and tourist information booths.
As in previous years, the event will recognize the participants and restaurants with awards for the most beloved dish, innovation, and traditional cuisine.
The entertainment will be provided by orchestras, such as Sentimiento Tropical, Hermanos Quiroga, Hermanos Barreto, Marco Antonio Guerrero, Alma Criolla, and El Gran Combo (impersonators).
This event is supported by Empresa CBC Peru, Hoteles Costa del Sol Wyndham Tumbes, and Centro Comercial Costa Mar Plaza Tumbes.
Admission will be free with limited capacity. The fair will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
