Prime Minister Denisse Miralles stated on Thursday it is a responsible decision to provide the stability Peru needs to address the climate and energy emergency, to which the government has responded swiftly.

"Thirty days before the electoral process, that is the responsible decision: to provide the stability our country needs to address these emergencies," Miralles said ahead of the confidence vote that the Executive Branch will request from Congress.

"There has been determination, as well as a swift and effective response. It is not that we alone have the solution; we have involved various associations, hydrocarbons groups, as well as those linked to industry and exports. The decisions taken have yielded the expected results," she added.

The Prime Minister said that so far she has met with three congressional groups ahead of the Cabinet's presentation before Parliament to request the confidence vote.

"I consider all of them to have been very positive because they have given us the opportunity to explain our work plan from now until July," Miralles stated.

"Besides, they have been constructive spaces where we have received comments and suggestions from members of Congress so these proposals can be more effective," she added.

The government official noted that meetings with other congressional groups are still scheduled.

Similarly, Miralles expressed confidence in a positive and constructive dialogue.

"We trust that this work and the call for the country to have the stability it needs will give us the assurance to go prepared on (March) 18, the day we will respectfully request the vote of confidence," she noted.

The Cabinet chief met this morning with the Fuerza Popular (Popular Force) legislators, with whom she discussed, among other issues, citizen security and the new strategy the Executive Branch is implementing with the incorporation of more police agents in March.

Previously, Miralles held talks with the Accion Popular (Popular Action) and Honor y Democracia (Honor and Democracy) groups as part of the round of conversations promoted by the Executive Branch.

The Cabinet's presentation before Congress is scheduled for March 18.

It will outline the government's general policy and request the vote of confidence from legislators.
