Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola highlighted that the Government is making progress in the immigration regularization process undertaken since May this year, which granted a period of six months for foreigners to regularize their stay in the country.
After the
Council of Ministers session on Monday, it was reported that, a few days before the deadline to carry out this procedure (November 10), 55,168
Temporary Stay Permit Cards (CPPs) have been issued so far, and another 4,973 are expected to be delivered.
It should be pointed out that 94.18% of said cards are to be given to Venezuelan citizens.
Likewise, it was indicated that 176,961 applications were received within the framework of the amnesty of fines.
Of that total, 126,806 people received this benefit, mostly men between 30 and 39 years old and mainly Venezuelan nationals (91.15%), followed by people from Colombia, Bolivia, China, among others.
"The deadline will not be extended. We salute those who have come to regularize their situation," Otarola said at a press conference.
"On the one hand, the Peruvian State will give them the card that corresponds to their status in Peru, but on the other hand, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) and the National Superintendence of Migrations system will adopt actions so that only duly registered citizens can remain in the country," he explained.
Preventive actions to combat El Niño
Furthermore, as part of the works carried out to combat
El Niño phenomenon, the Ministerial Cabinet head reported on the progress made at different
Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) hospitals in Piura region, following an increase in supply in terms of medical staff and equipment, as well as coordination actions with regional and local governments.
