The Government has declared Lima's Villa Maria del Triunfo and Pachacamac districts in state of emergency for 30 days to attend to the victims of the explosion that occurred recently at a gas station, Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen announced on Wednesday.

"The supreme decree that declares state of emergency in both districts was announced yesterday. It was put on today's agenda at the Council of Ministers and has been approved based on the damage suffered by some citizens," he stated.

According to the Cabinet chief, the measure will allow authorities from the three government levels to coordinate the execution of actions aimed at serving the population affected by this emergency.

The detonation at a Primax service station in Villa Maria del Triunfo, which occurred last Monday, left one person dead, nearly 50 injured, and damage to homes near the point of explosion.

Dengue

Prime Minister Adrianzen also announced it was agreed to extend for 60 days the dengue health emergency in Amazonas, Ancash, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huanuco, Junin, Ica, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Piura, Pasco, Puno, San Martin, Ucayali, and Callao regions.

"The Health minister made it known that although dengue is decreasing significantly in the interior provinces, we must conduct a reinforcement campaign to maintain these conditions and not allow a new outbreak," he indicated.
