The Executive Branch has authorized the trip of Prime Minister Alberto Otarola to the city of Toronto, Canada, to participate as a main speaker at the Prospectors and Development Association of Canada (PDAC) 2023 Mining Convention.

According to Supreme Resolution 048-2023-PCM published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, the trip of Prime Minister Otarola to Toronto (Canada) is authorized from March 5 to 8 this year.

In this regard, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers' Office will be entrusted to Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister Hania Perez de Cuellar, as long as the Cabinet chief's absence lasts.

The head of the Ministerial Cabinet will take part at Peru Day, scheduled for March 6.

The next day, Otarola and Economy-Finance Minister Alex Contreras will hold a meeting with global investors and entrepreneurs to promote the investment opportunities available in Peru.

The presence of the Peruvian delegation, which is led by the Prime Minister and made up of Ministers Oscar Vera Gargurevich (Energy and Mines) and Alex Contreras (Economy and Finance) at PDAC 2023, confirms the importance that the Government places on the fruitful progress of mining to promote the economic recovery and reduce poverty.

The resolution states that the Cabinet chief will participate as main speaker at the CEO Luncheon, Peru’s main lunch at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) on March 7, 2023.

The PDAC (Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada) is the most important mining convention in the world. It hosts more than 30,000 entrepreneurs from more than 130 countries.
