Peru: Govt approves strategy for students' return in 2021-2022 school year

11:04 | Lima, Jul. 8.

Peru's Ministry of Education (Minedu) has approved a strategy for students' return (to face-to-face classes) and the consolidation of learning in the 2021-2022 school year, through a regulation published on Thursday in the official gazette El Peruano.

Ministerial Resolution No. 245-2021-MINEDU provides that said strategy seeks physical education students' consolidation and continuation of learning in the best conditions, as well as to ensure that education is timely and of high quality.

The rule —endorsed by Education Minister Ricardo Cuenca— indicates that continuing with the approval process for the strategy is technically feasible because it is aligned with the education sector’s strategic and institutional planning documents.

The resolution states that the implementation of said strategy will be financed during fiscal year 2021, from the institutional budget of the Ministry of Education and Executing Units in Metropolitan Lima and Regional Governments.
