Peru's Prime President Violeta Bermudez on Thursday announced the dispatch of a high-level commission to create the first space for dialogue and identify a shared agenda that will be worked on with actors in the agricultural sector of northern Peru.
"In second place, we will send a commission made up of three ministers to create the first space for dialogue and identify a shared agenda that will be worked on with the participating parties," she said.
She went on to say that representatives of agricultural workers —who were contacted by the Regional Government of La Libertad and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers— as well as representatives of trade unions, among others, will be invited to participate in this round table discussion.
"Third, once the working group is established, a session of the
National Agreement Forum will be convened. It should be noted that the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti has already coordinated with Max Hernandez, the secretary of said body," she pointed out.
In that sense, the Cabinet chief explained that the
National Agreement Forum will be the platform to debate —in the shortest term— an agenda to formulate guidelines for the strengthening of the agricultural sector.
"This is a crucial time to resume dialogue and find shared solutions," she added.
