The government ordered the declaration of a state of emergency in several districts across provinces in the regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Apurimac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Junin, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, and San Martin due to imminent danger from heavy rainfall.
The measure, established through Supreme Decree No. 034-2026-PCM, sets a period of 60 calendar days.
During this time, exceptional, immediate, and necessary measures and actions will be implemented to reduce the existing very high risk, as well as to carry out the corresponding response and rehabilitation efforts.
Likewise, through Supreme Decree No. 035-2026-PCM, a state of emergency has been declared for a period of 60 calendar days.
The measure applies to several districts across provinces in the regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huanuco, Junin, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno, San Martin, Tacna, and Ucayali.
This is intended to implement exceptional, immediate, and necessary response and rehabilitation measures, as appropriate.
In addition, through Supreme Decree No. 036-2026-PCM, the government ordered the declaration of a state of emergency for 60 calendar days.
The measure applies to several districts across the regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huanuco, Junin, La Libertad, Loreto, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno, San Martin, and Tacna.
The aim is to prevent damage caused by heavy rainfall, as well as to implement exceptional, immediate, and necessary response and rehabilitation measures and actions.
In all cases, the regional and local governments involved will implement immediate and necessary emergency measures. The actions will be carried out with technical coordination and monitoring by the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci), as well as the participation of ministries and other public and private institutions.
These actions must have a direct causal link between the interventions and the event.
They may be modified according to the needs and safety considerations that arise during their implementation, based on the technical studies of the competent entities.
Likewise, it states that the implementation of the actions provided for in the supreme decrees will be financed from the institutional budgets of the entities involved, without requiring additional resources from the Public Treasury.
