Peru: Foreign Trade Ministry keeps strengthening tourism industry with Ecuador

13:00 | Lima, Sep. 9.

The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has reported that the Government continues to strengthen the tourism industry with Ecuador.

Thus, as part of the strategies to boost the recovery of tourism, Mincetur has provided various operators in the sector with strategic information to improve services for Ecuadorian tourists.

The recognition of Peru as leading culinary, cultural and tourist destination in South America has created great expectations among international tourists about the possibility to explore its major attractions.

For this reason, the Government has provided tourism companies with itineraries of activities, thus ensuring a good service for tourists.

"The Government of President Pedro Castillo remains committed to promoting the reactivation of the sector with the integration of our brotherly peoples," said Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Roberto Sanchez.

"The aim is to achieve a true development in the country, preserving our culture and identity," he added.

The study entitled "Profile of potential Ecuadorian tourists 2022" was announced during the virtual edition of "Turismo In Day" —an event that brought together a large number of tourism companies from 25 regions across the country, particularly from northern Peru.

According to the report, three out of 10 Ecuadorian citizens intend to travel to Latin American attractions in the next 12 months.

"Among these attractions is Peru, which right now has about 1,900 tourist resources," Mincetur reported.
