In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) on Friday clarified that the use of face masks remains mandatory in open and closed spaces.

1.- Currently, Minsa has not provided any rule that eliminates the use of face masks in open spaces. Its use remains mandatory and is one of the main measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.

2.- Although it has been possible to vaccinate more than 50% of the target population with the third dose against COVID-19, the population is urged to continue complying with prevention measures, such as the use of face masks, washing of hands, social distancing, avoiding crowds, and maintaining the social bubble so as to prevent contagion linked to the virus.

4.- Given the appearance of new COVID-19 variants, a fourth wave is not ruled out. Therefore, Minsa calls on the population to continue complying with sanitary measures to avoid contagion due to SARS-CoV-2, as well as to complete the vaccination schedule.
