The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a practical workshop for officials from 12 key sectors in an effort to strengthen the Peruvian State's capacity to manage international financing.

The training will enable them to develop and submit cooperation projects aligned with the priorities of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, ensuring resources for strategic initiatives in the country.

The workshop aimed to promote the submission of proposals aligned with the guidelines agreed upon by consensus during the APEC Peru 2024 presidency.

They focused on the economic empowerment of vulnerable populations, the strengthening of MSMEs, the transition to a formal economy, and the use of clean energy, as well as the prevention and reduction of food loss and waste, among others.

Officials from the Government and Digital Transformation Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and the Ministries of Education, Health, Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Labor and Employment Promotion, Production, Foreign Trade and Tourism, Energy and Mines, Women and Vulnerable Populations, Environment, as well as Development and Social Inclusion actively participated in the workshop.

During the session, they received key information on the preparation of concept notes, a fundamental requirement for project eligibility at APEC.

Peru hosted APEC for the third time in 2024, following the 2008 and 2016 editions.
