The Peruvian Armed Forces honored the return of a 160-strong Blue Beret contingent with a special ceremony at Army headquarters.

The event praised Peru Infantry Company's 13-year peacekeeping mission works in Haiti.

In this sense, Armed Forces Joint Command Chief Jose Paredes Lora underlined Peru's broad participation in peacekeeping missions as a United Nations founding member.

The Admiral referred to Peruvian Armed Forces' cooperation in the Middle East decades ago, highlighting "the professionalism of world-renowned Peruvian Blue Beret members."

Similarly, he addressed the completion of national Blue Berets' engagement in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) "in our brother Caribbean nation," where they served as a peacekeeping force for 13 years.

As part of MINUSTAH, the Inca nation's agents worked to restore a secure and stable environment, promote the political process, strengthen Haiti’s Government institutions and rule-of-law-structures, as well as to promote and protect human rights.

The event also saw the presence of Navy and Air Force Commander Generals Gonzalo Rios Polastri and Javier Ramirez Guillen, respectively.
