Peru and Brazil meet to improve border populations' situation

The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the holding of the XIII Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism at the Deputy Ministerial Level and the VII Meeting of the Deputy Ministerial Commission for Peru-Brazil Border Integration, where actions for the benefit of border populations were discussed.

The meeting took place recently at the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters in Peru's capital, Lima.

In this regard, Peruvian Deputy Minister Peter Camino and Brazilian Ambassador Maria Laura da Rocha highlighted the swift signing of the agreement to facilitate the supply of goods to Peruvian border towns through Brazilian territory.

This measure will directly benefit the population of Purus, Ucayali region.

The importance of continuing to deepen bilateral trade and physical integration was also reaffirmed at the event.

It was explained that Brazilian exports will be able to reach the Asia-Pacific region through Peruvian ports, making the most of the upcoming Chancay logistics hub inauguration.
