Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa met with Belgium's Ambassador, Yannick Minsier recently.
The two officials discussed the main issues on the bilateral agenda and opportunities to continue strengthening ties between both nations.
During the meeting last Monday, the two sides highlighted the strong level of political dialogue between Peru and Belgium, as well as their interest in fostering more high-level visits.
Moreover, they discussed strengthening economic and trade ties.
The fight against transnational organized crime and illicit drug trafficking also featured prominently during the meeting.
Lastly, both sides highlighted progress in police cooperation and agreed on the importance of deepening joint work on port security, an area of particular relevance to both countries.
