According to the latest Corah report, these actions were carried out on 1,352 plots of operational axes in Constitucion district, Puerto Inca province, Huanuco region; and in Tamaya, Coronel Portillo province, Ucayali region.
Mininter underscored that this
task relies on the essential support from the Peruvian National Police (PNP) Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro), whose joint work also allowed for the location and destruction of seven rustic laboratories previously used for production of cocaine drugs.
Mininter's special program estimates that the total eradicated so far means an advance of 13.83% of the goal set for 2024, projected to destroy 25,000 hectares of illegal coca leaf crops.
Thanks to these actions which combat the drug trafficking production chain, the production of 32.28 metric tons of cocaine hydrochloride was prevented.
The eradication of illicit coca leaf crops and the fight against illicit drug trafficking are part of the National Anti-Drug Policy by 2030. It is led by the Interior sector, headed by Minister Walter Ortiz.
