Within the framework of the April 12, 2026, General Elections, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are coordinating actions to guarantee voting access for more than 1.2 million Peruvians abroad.

Both institutions are working in close coordination to ensure participation by nationals residing outside Peru.

A total of 2,508 polling tables are expected to be installed at 216 polling stations in 208 cities, allowing the process to be organized with extensive coverage.

Likewise, citizens can check their polling place on the Tu Voto Cruza Fronteras (Your Vote Cross Borders) website, which provides official information on elections outside the country.

Organization

Depending on the number of registered voters in each city, voting will be conducted at consular offices or alternative venues.

Each polling table may serve up to 500 voters, a higher threshold than the 300-voter limit applied within the national territory.

In the voting process abroad, excusal and justification procedures for polling table members will be free of charge.

In addition, those who fail to submit the required procedures and do not fulfill their duties will be fined S/275 (about US$82), equivalent to 5% of the Tax Unit (UIT).

By contrast, those who perform the role will receive compensation of S/165 (about US$49), which will be paid through the corresponding consular office.
