The National Elections Board (JNE) on Thursday released a statement informing citizens that, as of this date, the institution has not issued the general record proclaiming the electoral runoff results.

In this regard, the Board clarified that there are no official results in the electoral contest between Keiko Fujimori (Popular Force Party) and Roberto Sanchez (Together for Peru Party) held on June 7.

The JNE emphasized that, in accordance with current electoral legislation, the proclamation of results "may only be carried out once all stages established by law have been completed."

These include the resolution of challenged electoral records, nullity appeals, and the consolidation of the general vote count by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).

In this regard, the JNE said it had analyzed material circulated on social media that purportedly showed the institution proclaiming a winner of the runoff election.

The Board found that the images and videos "correspond to previous electoral processes, specifically the 2021 General Elections and the first round of the 2026 General Elections, and therefore bear no relation to a proclamation of results for the current presidential runoff election."

Lastly, the JNE reminded citizens and political organizations that the only official results and electoral acts are those announced through its institutional channels, in accordance with the procedures established by the Constitution and the law.
