Peru: 16 patients already recovered from coronavirus

Peru continues its fight to defeat the new coronavirus. Within this framework, Health Minister Victor Zamora on Saturday announced that 16 citizens have already recovered from COVID-19 and experienced an improvement after receiving timely medical attention and diagnosis.

The people —who successfully overcame the disease— had received medical attention in Cusco (5) and Lima: Dos de Mayo National Hospital (3), Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital (3), Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital (1), and private clinics (4).

In Lima's peripheral Villa El Salvador district, the three male patients (aged: 33, 39, and 54) who had received spontaneous ventilation and were discharged on March 27.

The data of all patients —taken care of at public and private health establishments— are kept strictly confidential in order to respect their privacy and prevent them from being stigmatized by their social and/or work environments.

Earlier today, President Martin Vizcarra confirmed that coronavirus (COVID-19) cases had increased to 671 in Peru —out of a total of 10,896 samples taken. Thus, other 10,225 citizens tested negative.
