Lima 2019: Peru's Jauregui gets gold in Para badminton

Peruvian Pilar Jauregui won the Para badminton gold medal in the Women's Singles WH2 Final at Lima 2019 Parapan American Games on Sunday morning.

Jauregui defeated Canadian Yuka Chokyu 2-0 (21-12, 21-1) after 24 minutes of play.

Thus, she was awarded the medal by President Martin Vizcarra.

The event took place at the Sport Center 3 in the National Sports Village (VIDENA).

So far, Peru has claimed 15 medals, including gold (5), silver (3), and bronze (7) at these Parapan American Games, thus surpassing the country's record of 11 medals earned at Mexico 1999.
