The prestigious US LatinFinance magazine chose Peruvian president Alan García as the Man of the Year due to his leading role in Peru's fast growth and development.

The magazine pointed out that in an upside down world where Brazilian companies buy North American enterprises and where investors sell securities of G7 to buy the Latin-American debt, Alan Garcia is the perfect LatinFinance Man of the Year 2008.
“The Peruvian President Alan García is a man on a mission, calling for revolutions to transform the country,” the LatinFinace magazine stated.
“Peru has made an admirable progress, but we have to do more, we have everything in the right place to make a qualitative jump,” said President Garcia to LatinFinance magazine in an exclusive interview.
Peru is capitalizing on robust economic expansion to revamp local markets, Economy and Finance minister Luis Carranza Ugarte told LatinFinance.
