Italian football legend Roberto Baggio will arrive in Lima next week to bolster the “Professional football against hunger” campaign of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Baggio, FAO Goodwill Ambassador, is to arrive in our country on May 11 and will visit the city of Cusco, according to local press reports.
The former Inter player will be accompanied by representatives of the Peruvian and foreign media, who were invited to cover the activities to be carried out by the Italian football star.
In addition, the 1993 FIFA World Player of the Year will return to Lima on May 12 to visit a football school and on the next day he will head back to Italy after attending the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the FAO and the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).
Regularly regarded as one of the finest footballers of his generation, Baggio won both the Ballon d'Or in 1993. He is the only Italian player ever to score in three World Cups.
