INEI: Peru's economy up 3.18% in Aug 2025, driven by most sectors' dynamism

National production grew by 3.18% last August 2025 compared to the same month last year, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported on Wednesday.

The National Production Technical Report, prepared by INEI, stated that all productive sectors showed greater dynamism, except for the Fishing sector. The latter experienced a decline in maritime extraction.

Productive activity increased by 3.32% from January to August 2025, and by 3.59% over the past 12 months (September 2024–August 2025).

Among the sectors that registered increases were: Agriculture and Livestock (+6.43%); Mining and Hydrocarbons (+1.78%); Manufacturing (+0.06%); Electricity, Gas, and Water (+0.95%); Construction (+3.60%); Commerce (+3.78%); Transportation, Storage, and Courier (+4.03%); Accommodation and Restaurants (+0.89%); Telecommunications and Other Information Services (+1.80%); Finance and Insurance (+2.24%); Services Provided to Companies (+3.67%); and Government Services (+4.73%).

On the other hand, the Fishing sector registered lower activity (-11.47%).
