U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, the world-renowned star who stirred up the national sports scene last week, watched a demonstration by members of the national teams at the Videna and received a final warm welcome from fans who are already beginning to build excitement ahead of the Lima 2027 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
"Thank you for all the affection you have shown me these past few days. Today has been very special, and it has been very special to feel your warmth. I really enjoyed today's exhibition and everyone's energy here, and I will take wonderful memories of all of you with me," she expressed.
Accompanied by Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) Chairman Renzo Manyari and Peruvian Gymnastics Federation Chairwoman Lucinda Infante, Biles watched members of the national team take part in the exhibition on the various apparatus.
They included Ana Karina Mendez (Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games), Cristina Candiotti, Rebecca Bossio, Giaccomo Llempen, Edward Gonzales, Daniel Agüero, Danica Rems, Cloe Rodriguez, and finally Fabiola Diaz.
The nearly 500 gymnasts in attendance chanted her name, applauded her, and were thrilled when Biles herself broke protocol to take selfies with attendees and in groups, seeking to ensure that everyone in both spectator stands at Videna's Sports Complex 1 would have a memento of her presence.

At the audience's request, she ended her visit with a "Go Peru!" that prompted another enthusiastic reaction from everyone in attendance at the Videna.
The Parapan American Games will be held from August 20 to 29.
