The Government of Peru is promoting a legal framework to provide greater legal certainty to the Armed Forces and the National Police in the fight against crime, stated the President of the Council of Ministers, Luis Galarreta.

"The country needs strengthened institutions, clear rules, and a firm response to restore peace of mind to families," he noted, according to the X (formerly Twitter) account of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM).

He emphasized that those who protect Peru must have the necessary backing to confront crime.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Government will continue working to protect the Peruvian people from the El Niño phenomenon and to accelerate the reconstruction of affected areas, setting aside any political differences.

"It is not about Keiko or Galarreta; it is about the country and responding to the challenges that Peru faces," Galarreta pointed out.
