After 12 years of presence in Peru,
Google has embarked upon a new stage, opening a new office, which reiterates its commitment to continue supporting the development and technological growth of the country.
As of Wednesday, the headquarters of Google Peru is located in Lima's San Isidro district, from where it will continue to accompany the digital evolution of Peruvian users and companies.
"We have a sustainable and long-term commitment. As we move forward, we take greater responsibility for the development of people and businesses, and for joining this great effort of closing the digital gap in Peru," said Edgardo Frias, Country Director at Google Peru, at the opening event.
Moreover, the executive affirmed that the Google staff are very enthusiastic about the achievements made so far, noting that this encourages them to think about what they will achieve in the coming years.
The new headquarters covers more than 676 square meters, and each corner of the place celebrates the wealth of Peru.
The project combines the characteristic aspects of the Google headquarters around the world, including aspects inspired by the eight ecological floors of the varied Peruvian geography, using the Andes mountain range as an integrating design feature for the entire office.
There is a doodle at the reception room, which was designed as an interactive experience for visitors and represents the Peruvian Sea, the Inca bridges, the Amazon River, the Puya raimondii (also known as queen of the Andes), and the fruit of life: the Aguaje.
Each room at the Google Peru office contains an altitude sign that gives visitors and workers an idea of the region represented in each space.
In addition, the names of the meeting rooms honor the most representative natural tourist areas in the country, and various graphic pieces are part of the experience of visiting the office.
"Our positioning in Peru is sustained by the growth of our office and the commitment to help build a productive ecosystem, in which agencies, media, content creators, entrepreneurs, and companies of all sizes can take part," Frias stated.
"We will continue working to bring technology closer to users because we are pleased to know that we contribute to providing them a valuable, productive and friendly digital world," he added.
