summoned Russia's Ambassador to Peru Alekséi Ushakov to convey the Peruvian Government's position regarding the situation of compatriots who died or went missing in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa conveyed President Keiko Fujimori's concern that all necessary information be provided regarding the whereabouts and situation of those Peruvians who are in Russia.
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Eric Anderson stated that Peru will neither forget nor neglect fellow citizens wherever they may be, urging the Russian authorities to provide accurate and up-to-date information on their whereabouts and situation.
Representatives of the affected families also attended the meeting and conveyed to the Russian ambassador their concern over the lack of information from his government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also held more than 25 coordination meetings with the affected families, sent a special delegate to Moscow to inquire about Peruvians in Russia, and contributed to the repatriation of 27 compatriots.
