The statement addressed "the situation of nationals who travel to provide services in foreign armed forces."
"One national is scheduled to arrive in Peru on Sunday, May 3. Another six Peruvians are expected to arrive next Monday, May 4; they departed from Moscow on Saturday morning with the assistance of officials from our Embassy and under the corresponding protection," the relase said.
The Ministry also indicated that two other nationals are still awaiting repatriation, which is expected to be completed in the coming days.
"These developments are the direct result of efforts carried out by the Peruvian ambassador to the Russian Federation and the Consular Section in Moscow, which, following instructions from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, have already established and are implementing protocols to assist Peruvians who come forward, depending on each individual case," the document said.
Similarly, the statement noted that the Peruvian Embassy in the Russian Federation and its Consular Section remain attentive to any requests from nationals.
