on Saturday ruled out the death of any Peruvian citizen after the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Hamas group against the State of Israel.
"The Peruvian community in Israel is made up of approximately 4,000 people; so far, no compatriot has been registered who may have been affected by the situation of violence that this country is going through," said Estefany Jordan, head of Peru's Consular Section in Israel.
"So far, there is no information on injuries or deaths to lament, in the case of our compatriots," she added.
The Peruvian official indicated that fellow citizens residing in said country are very concerned because they fear that their flights back to Peru may be affected.
"Although Ben Gurion Airport continues to operate, there are several flights that have been effectively canceled, and if that situation continues, we will have a situation of compatriots stranded in this country," she told Latina Noticias.

"Today at 6 a.m. (local time), Hamas terrorists launched more than 2,000 missiles from the Gaza Strip at the Israeli population; hundreds of terrorists crossed the border and massacred hundreds of Israelis in the villages and cities near the border," he recalled.
Haiat commented that there are no reasons for this new attack by Hamas and that Israel's Government will do everything possible to repel the bombings coming from the Gaza Strip.
An attack by land, sea, and air from Gaza towards Israel by the Islamist group Hamas has caused more than 200 deaths and injured nearly 900 people.
"Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, 18 years ago. There is no reason for Hamas terrorists to attack Israel, other than their fundamentalist ideology of wanting to destroy the State of Israel, all Israelis and Jews. Israel is going to do everything possible to attack only terrorists in the Gaza Strip, and we are going to rescue our citizens from there," he indicated.
